Welcome to our school's parkour classes!

The Parkour Foundations Course is a comprehensive 6-week program designed to instill fundamental techniques and boost confidence in participants' physical capabilities. Through a series of engaging and progressive sessions, participants will develop essential parkour skills, overcome obstacles, and cultivate a strong foundation in the discipline. Our experienced instructors are certified parkour practitioners with a deep understanding of movement mechanics and safety protocols. They are committed to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment for participants of all skill levels.

Who is it for?

-Beginners who want more than a regular class. In these sessions you’ll be learning about the why’s and hows of the fundamental skills into finding your footing on ground level to scaling up with the support you need. By gaining an understanding of your physical capabilities, our goal is for you to leave with confidence in executing movement safely in your own body.

-Hobbyists looking to challenge their knowledge and gain new paths to keep their practice fresh when they train in or out of the gym.

-Seasoned or advanced traceurs looking to brush up on the basics, seeking mastery in what’s already been done, and to reimagine how simplicity can also mean genius.

Program Objectives:

  1. Technique Mastery: Participants will learn proper parkour techniques including vaults, jumps, rolls, and landings through systematic instruction and guided practice.
  2. Confidence Building: The course aims to enhance participants' self-assurance in their physical abilities by gradually introducing and mastering new movements in a supportive environment.
  3. Safety Awareness: Safety is paramount in parkour. Participants will be educated on risk assessment, safe landings, and injury prevention techniques to foster a culture of responsible training.
  4. Progression Tracking: Progression will be monitored throughout the program, allowing participants to observe their growth and celebrate achievements.

Course Structure:

Session Breakdown:

  1. Week 1-2: Introduction to Parkour
    • Basic philosophy and principles
    • Warm-up exercises and mobility drills
    • Introduction to fundamental movements: quadrupedal movement, balance exercises
  2. Week 3-4: Technique Development
    • Detailed instruction on vaults (e.g., safety vault, lazy vault)
    • Progression drills to improve precision and efficiency
    • Introduction to basic jumps and landings
  3. Week 5-6: Application and Consolidation
    • Integration of learned techniques into obstacle courses
    • Partner drills for dynamic movement and coordination
    • Final assessment and review of progress
